After pulling my first print, I thought I would create some notebooks. I definitely learned a few tricks on how to fold and cut paper into notebooks.
Now that my studio is mostly operational, I thought I'd try to pull a print. I learned a lot from the process and will apply what I learned to future prints.
The garage model is coming along slowly and should be done by the end of the month. Meanwhile, I've been keeping myself busy with a 30-day challenge to see if I can produce 30 completely different designs using the Processing programming language, the Hype framework, and a little Illustrator tweaking. I've been posting these on Instagram but I thought I'd post them all here with a bit more narrative.
I'm the process of remodeling the garage so I can turn it into a screen printing studio. In the meantime, I've been learning more about the Processing coding language and Hype library and using code to manipulate my designs (a post on this is coming soon).
So for my birthday weekend I took a short trip to Los Angeles. I saw some fantastic modern art at the MOCA Grand, visited the LA Art Book Fair, and heard some experimental music and spoken word put on by Volume. And got the flu but I won't dwell on that. LA is such a vibrant, crazy, art-filled city—I can't wait to go back.
